John Krasinski named People Magazine’s 2024 Sexiest Man Alive

John Krasinski has been crowned People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2024, following in the footsteps of last year’s honoree, Patrick Dempsey. The big reveal took place on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, where Krasinski, 45, learned of his new title with typical humor and humility.

Best known for his role as the affable Jim Halpert on The Office, Krasinski has since become a multi-talented star, transitioning seamlessly into action hero territory with his portrayal of Jack Ryan in Amazon’s hit series. His role as the CIA analyst, made famous in films by Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, and Ben Affleck, has cemented his place in the action genre. Beyond acting, Krasinski co-wrote, directed, and starred in the highly successful A Quiet Place franchise, which has garnered both critical acclaim and box office success. He also created the viral, pandemic-inspired web series Some Good News, further expanding his creative reach.

Despite his many accomplishments, Krasinski confessed that his initial reaction to being named Sexiest Man Alive was one of disbelief. “Just immediate blackout, actually. Zero thoughts,” he joked, adding that he thought he might be the target of a prank.

As for his wife, actress Emily Blunt, Krasinski humorously remarked that she promised to turn his magazine cover into wallpaper at their home. “I think it’s going to make me do more household chores,” he quipped, anticipating the fun teasing he’ll receive at home. The couple, who share two daughters, have a playful dynamic that has charmed fans for years.

Krasinski’s new title marks a milestone in the 40-year history of Sexiest Man Alive, a list that has previously featured the likes of Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Michael B. Jordan, and Paul Rudd. Krasinski’s combination of charm, humor, and versatility has made him a standout, and his new honor is sure to keep the debates — and smiles — going for some time.
